Baby Alligators have hatched out and you may get a glimpse of their yellow-striped bodies along the Suwannee Canal or in the prairies.  With the water level on the low side, alligators can be seen just about anywhere along the main water trails.  Late summer-early fall plants such as yellowed eyed grass, water lilies, yellow bladderwort and red root are flowering in the prairies.

Head out on your own or join us for one of our regularly scheduled 90-minute tours. Call for information or to make reservations for our extended and overnight wilderness excursions.

Due to lower than normal water levels, rental motor boats are currently only available to folks wanting to fish along the canal.

After your visit, please come back and sign our Guest Book and tell us about your Okefenokee Adventure.

We’re proud to let you know that we were the Georgia Wildlife Federation 2005 Conservation Educators of the Year!

Okefenokee Swamp has been nominated to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site!  Click on links below for details.
