Okefonokee Adventures Map

From I-95

 

  • Get off at Exit 3 in Georgia, for Kingsland and Highway 40.
  • Take 40 West through Kingsland and into Folkston, until it ends in Folkston at a T intersection.
  • Make a Right turn at the T, then an immediate Left onto Main Street.
  • At 3rd light on Main street, make a Left onto Okefenokee Drive, also called 121 South.

 

Follow this road about 7 miles to the big wooden Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge sign on the right. Turn right here and follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You will see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.

From Amelia Island

 

  • Take A1A heading west off of Amelia Island. Drive about 8 miles after crossing the big bridge.
  • Right on Hwy 17 North towards Kingsland. Drive about 4.5 miles on this road.
  • Left on county road 108 / Evergreen Rd towards Hilliard. Drive 16 miles to the end of this road to where it ends at Hwy 1 in Hilliard.
  • Right on Hwy 1 in the town of Hilliard. Continue about 7 miles to cross into Georgia and the first town you come to is Folkston.
  • Left at the 2nd light onto Main Street.
  • Left at 2nd light onto Okefenokee Parkway, also called 121 South.

 

Follow this road about 7 miles to the big wooden Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge sign on the right. Turn right here and follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You will see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.

From Atlanta

 

  • Take I75 South out of Atlanta
  • In Tifton, take 82 East all the way into Waycross
  • Get on 1 South in Waycross heading towards Folkston.

     

(You will pass the Swamp Park along 1 South. This is private park located mainly outside of the refuge. That’s not us so keep on driving towards Folkston!)

  • Right at 2nd light onto Main Street in Folkston.
  • Left at 2nd light onto Okefenokee Drive, also called 121 South.

     

Stay on this road about 7 miles and you will see a big wooden Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge sign on the right. Turn right here and follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You will see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.

From Jacksonville

From Hwy 1 heading North:

  • On Hwy 1 North, drive through Callahan, Hilliard and Boulogne, FL and across the St Marys River into Georgia. Folkston is the first town you come to once you cross the river.
  • In Folkston, GA – Left at the 2nd light onto Main Street.
  • Left at 2nd light onto Okefenokee Parkway, also called 121 South.

Follow this road about 7 miles to the big wooden Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge sign on the right. Turn right here and follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You will see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.

From Hwy 121 heading North:

  • On Hwy 121 North, drive through Mcclenny FL into St. George, GA.
  • Continue on 121 North about 16 miles and you will see a big wooden sign reading Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge on the left. Turn left into the refuge
  • Follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You will see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.
From Jekyll or St Simons Islands

 

  • Take hwy 17 off the island. Hwy 17 will cross under Interstate 95.
  • Once you cross under 95, take a Left at 2nd light in order to continue on 17 south. Stay on 17 south for about 14 miles.
  • In the small community of White Oak (it’s not much of a community – look for the green sign) you’ll make a right onto 252 West, also called Burnt Fort Road. Stay on 252 for about 23 miles. 252 ends in Folkston.
  • In Folkston, turn left onto 2nd Street, then a quick right at first light onto Main Street.
  • Left at 2nd light onto Okefenokee Parkway, also called 121 South. Follow this road about 7 miles to the big wooden Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge sign on the right.

     

Turn at the sign and follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You’ll see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.

From Savannah and Brunswick

 

  • In Brunswick, take exit 29 off of Interstate 95. It’s for rts. 82 and 17. Bear right off the exit.
  • Left at 2nd light onto 17 South. Stay on 17 south for about 13 miles.
  • In the small community of White Oak (it’s not much of a community – look for the green sign) you’ll make a right onto 252 West, also called Burnt Fort Road. Stay on 252 for about 23 miles. 252 ends in Folkston.
  • In Folkston, turn left onto 2nd Street, then a quick right at first light onto Main Street.

From St Marys

 

 

  • Head West on hwy 40 out of St. Marys. Stay on hwy 40, through Kingsland and into Folkston, until it ends in Folkston at a T intersection.
  • Take a Right turn at this T
  • Immediate Left onto Main Street.
  • Left at third light onto Okefenokee Drive, also called 121 South.

     

Follow this road about 7 miles to the big wooden Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge sign on the right. Turn right here and follow this road about 4 miles to the end. You’ll see Okefenokee Adventures on the left in the last parking lot at the boat basin.

From Waycross

 

  • Take I75 South out of Atlanta
  • In Tifton, take 82 East all the way into Waycross
  • Get on 1 South in Waycross heading towards Folkston.
